Mustafa Alperen Özdemir lives in Belgium, where he was born. After completing his Bachelor of International Relations at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2008, he received his Master’s degree of International Security and Defense from the Université Pierre-Mendès-France in 2009. 

After a couple of internships in Turkey, Alperen Özdemir’s first step in his professional career began at the Turkish Embassy in Brussels where he worked as a stenographer. In 2013, he was hired as one of the advisors of Joëlle Milquet, who was at the time, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior in the Federal Government of Belgium. 

Since 2013, he has been serving as the EU / Brussels Representative of MÜSIAD, the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association, which is one of Turkey’s strongest and largest business organizations.   

On the academic side, he is currently preparing his PhD thesis under a doctoral program on International Affairs at the Université Catholique de Louvain. Mustafa Ozdemir is a also member of the Belgian Association of Political Science and an associate member of CECRI (Center for International Crisis and Conflict Studies).
